Methods for replacing heat exchange tubes in heat exchangers
1. Welding method
The welding method is generally used. This ensures the tightness of the connections in the heat exchanger under high temperature and high pressure. Additionally, the welding process is simpler than the expansion process, the requirements for processing the tube sheet holes are lower, and thinner tube sheets can be used when the pressure is not too high. Therefore, the welding method is widely adopted.
2. Expansion method
This method uses an expander to press the end of the tube into the tube sheet hole, causing plastic deformation of the tube ends in the heat exchanger, while the tube sheet holes also produce elastic deformation. When the expander is removed, the tube sheet holes elastically contract, tightly compressing the tube sheet and the tube together, achieving a sealed and secure fit.
Therefore, when installing heat exchange tubes in a heat exchanger, one of the two methods mentioned above is usually adopted. Regardless of which fixing method is used, it can achieve a good fixing effect. However, I still recommend that everyone choose a suitable fixing method for installation based on the structural conditions of the equipment itself, to achieve better fixing results.
