      Introduction to the backwashing method of plate heat exchangers

   Backwashing of plate heat exchangers: Using the existing water source in the system, the method of reverse water flow is employed to flush out the blocking substances in the plate heat exchanger.

  Operating method:

  For cleaning the primary side pipe network, close the inlet and outlet valves of the plate heat exchanger, open the primary inlet drain valve, open the primary outlet drain valve, drain the water inside the plate heat exchanger, close the air vent and drain valve, quickly open the primary outlet valve, and use the return water pressure from the primary pipe network to flush the blocking substances at the bottom end of the primary side of the plate heat exchanger upwards through the inlet drain valve.

  For cleaning the secondary side pipe network, close the inlet and outlet valves of the plate heat exchanger. Open the secondary inlet drain valve, open the inlet air vent to drain the water inside the plate heat exchanger, close the air vent, quickly open the secondary outlet, and use the water supply pressure from the secondary pipe network to flush the blocking substances at the bottom end of the secondary side of the plate heat exchanger upwards through the inlet drain valve.

  Precautions for backwashing plate heat exchangers:

  1. The diameter of the drain valve should be as close as possible to the diameter of the main pipe.

  2. The drain pipe interface should be on the lower side of the main pipe.

  3. The effective diameter of the drain valve should be as large as possible.

  4. The drain pipe must be installed between the fixed plate and the plate heat exchanger valve.

  5. The cleaning effect of the primary network is poor, while the cleaning effect of the secondary network is relatively better.

  6. Pay attention when the pipe network pressure is too high, the plate heat exchanger has leaks, or the sealing strip is about to fail.

  Scope of application: Suitable for blocking caused by incompressible metallic substances. For larger installation areas, the backwashing effect is not good. When two plate heat exchangers are used in parallel, online cleaning can be performed without stopping the operation.
