Introduction to Fixed Tube Sheet Heat Exchangers

Summary:

The fixed tube sheet heat exchanger is composed of components such as the tube box, shell, tube sheet, and tubes. Its structure is relatively compact, with a larger number of tubes, providing a larger surface area under the same diameter, and it is simpler to manufacture. The last weld between the shell and the tube sheet cannot be inspected. Its advantages are: (1) The heat transfer area is 20% to 30% larger than that of floating head heat exchangers; (2) Bypass leakage is relatively small; (3) Less forgings are used, reducing costs by more than 20%; (4) There is no internal leakage. Its disadvantages are: (1) The temperature difference between the shell and tube wall t<50℃, when t>50℃, it is necessary to set up on the shell.

            (4) Corrosion of the tubes can lead to the scrapping of the shell, and the lifespan of the shell components is determined by the lifespan of the tubes, which is relatively low;
 
            (5) The shell side is not suitable for situations prone to scaling.
