The air preheater is a device that uses the waste heat from flue gas to increase the temperature of the air entering the furnace. Its working principle is as follows: one side of the heating surface is in contact with flue gas, while the other side is in contact with air, facilitating heat exchange to heat the air and raise its temperature; this also lowers the flue gas discharge temperature, enhancing the utilization of waste heat from the flue gas. The air preheater has the following functions: 1. Improve and strengthen combustion. When the hot air that has passed through the preheater enters the furnace, it accelerates the drying, ignition, and combustion processes of the fuel, ensuring stable combustion within the furnace and playing a role in improving and strengthening combustion. 2.   The air preheater is a device that uses the waste heat of flue gas to increase the temperature of the air entering the furnace. Its working principle is: one side of the heating surface is heated by flue gas, while the other side is heated by air, conducting heat exchange to heat the air and raise its temperature; this lowers the flue gas discharge temperature and increases the utilization of flue gas waste heat.
 
  The air preheater has the following functions:
 
  1. Improve and enhance combustion. When the hot air that has passed through the preheater enters the furnace, it accelerates the drying, ignition, and combustion processes of the fuel, ensuring stable combustion in the furnace and playing a role in improving and enhancing combustion.
 
  2. Strengthen heat transfer. As the combustion in the furnace is improved and enhanced, along with the increased temperature of the hot air entering the furnace, the average temperature level in the furnace also rises, thereby strengthening the radiant heat transfer in the furnace.
 
  3. Reduce losses in the furnace, lower flue gas temperature, and improve boiler thermal efficiency. Due to stable combustion in the furnace and enhanced radiant heat exchange, chemical incomplete combustion losses can be reduced; on the other hand, the air preheater utilizes flue gas waste heat to further reduce flue gas losses, thus improving the boiler's thermal efficiency. According to experience, when the temperature of the air in the preheater increases by 1.5°C, the flue gas temperature can be reduced by 1°C. After installing the air preheater in the boiler flue, if the air can be preheated to 150-160°C, the flue gas temperature can be reduced by 110-120°C, which can increase the boiler's thermal efficiency by 7%-7.5% and save fuel by 11%-12%.
 
  4. Hot air can be used as a drying agent for fuel. For staged combustion furnaces, hot air allows the use of fuels with higher moisture and ash content; for power station boilers, hot air is an important drying agent in the pulverizing system and a medium for coal powder transportation.
